MatteView is a composition and previsualization app from Mattebox Labs LLC. This policy explains how the app handles photographs and local preferences, and how we handle a support request.

MatteView processes camera previews and photographs on your iPhone. The app does not send photographs to Mattebox Labs. It has no advertising or analytics SDKs, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not require an account.
Camera and Photos access
MatteView asks for camera permission to show the live composition preview. When you take a photograph, MatteView requests add-only Photos permission so it can save the image to your Photos library. It saves only when you choose to save.
You can change or revoke these permissions in iPhone Settings. Disabling camera access prevents live composition; disabling Photos access prevents saving new images.
Information stored on your iPhone
MatteView stores on-device preferences, including whether you completed the introduction and the identifier of the most recently saved photograph. Deleting the app removes its local preferences. It does not delete photographs already saved to Photos.
Your own iCloud Photos and device-backup settings may sync or back up photographs and app information independently of MatteView. You control saved photographs through the Photos app.
When you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to send, such as a message or screenshot. We use it to respond and investigate the issue. Please avoid sending unrelated personal information.
Our business email is provided through Google Workspace. Email providers process correspondence to deliver and store it. We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to handle the request and related support, security or legal needs.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal information or use MatteView data for targeted advertising. Information you voluntarily send to support may be handled by service providers that operate our email and support infrastructure. We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect rights, safety or security.
This website
These support pages are hosted using OpenAI Sites. Visiting a website can involve the hosting provider processing technical information, such as an IP address, browser information and request logs, to deliver and protect the service. This is separate from MatteView’s on-device photo processing. We have not added advertising, analytics scripts or tracking pixels to these pages.
Your choices
- Control camera and Photos permissions in iPhone Settings.
- Manage or delete saved photographs in the Photos app.
- Delete MatteView to remove its local preferences.
- Choose what to share with support and ask us to delete correspondence you sent, subject to any retention obligations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the app or our practices change. The effective and updated dates above identify the current version.
