Evlume / Privacy

Your scene stays
on your device.

Evlume is a light meter from Mattebox Labs LLC. This policy explains how the app handles information and how we handle a support request.

Effective September 20, 2026 · Applies to Evlume 1.0

Evlume processes camera frames on your iPhone. The app does not send camera images, meter readings or saved masks to Mattebox Labs. It has no advertising or analytics SDKs, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not require an account.

Camera access

Evlume asks for camera permission to show a live preview and measure reflected light. Frames and camera exposure information are processed on the device. Evlume does not automatically upload camera frames or save photographs to your photo library.

You can turn camera access off in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera. The meter needs that permission to operate. Evlume does not request microphone, contacts or location access.

Information stored on your iPhone

The app stores preferences such as camera format, focal length, exposure controls, compensation and calibration settings. Custom masks that you choose to save are stored locally for reuse.

Evlume also keeps local reading and calibration diagnostic records. These can include timestamps, an identifier for a reading attempt, meter settings, camera exposure values, measurement statistics, timing, and warnings or errors. These records do not contain scene photographs and are not automatically transmitted to us.

Preferences, saved masks and diagnostic records can remain until you delete them through an available app control or delete the app. Reset All Settings restores preferences but preserves saved masks and calibration records. Deleting the app removes its local app data; iOS backups may retain a copy according to your Apple backup settings. Offloading the app is different from deleting it and can preserve app data.

When you contact support

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, such as a message, screenshot or diagnostic information. We use it to respond, investigate problems and improve support. Please avoid sending unrelated personal information.

Our business email is provided through Google Workspace. Email providers process correspondence to deliver and store it. We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to handle the request and related support, security or legal needs. You can ask us to delete your support correspondence by contacting the address below, subject to any retention obligations that apply.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information or use Evlume data for targeted advertising. Information you voluntarily send to support may be handled by service providers that operate our email and support infrastructure. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect rights, safety or the security of our services.

This website and external links

These support pages are hosted using OpenAI Sites. Visiting a website can involve the hosting provider processing technical information, such as an IP address, browser information and request logs, to deliver and protect the service. This is separate from Evlume’s on-device camera processing. We have not added advertising, analytics scripts or tracking pixels to these pages. External services operate under their own privacy policies.

Your choices

Because Evlume does not upload your local readings or masks to us, we cannot access or delete those records remotely.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app or our practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
